El-Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC) contracted Enppi a Project Management Services (PMS) contract to provide technical consultancy services for the execution of Phase III of Ain Sokhna Fertilizers Complex. Eng. Wael Lotfy; Enppi Chairman & CEO and Dr. Gen. Ehab Abdel Samea; NCIC Chairman & Managing Director signed the consultation and technical services contract for Phase III of the project in the presence of National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) General Manager; Maj. Gen. Waleed Abu El- Majd. Phase III EPC project shall be executed by two consortiums, one formed by Ballestra and Petrojet, while the other is formed by Wuhuan and Petrojet. The project is expected to be completed after 42 months from the effective date of the EPC contracts.
The PMS contract comes in the framework of continuous strategic cooperation between the two esteemed companies and thanks to Enppi’s effective contribution to the success of the implementation of Phase I and Phase II of the project whose works commenced in 2016 and were inaugurated by the Egyptian President in 2019 and 2023 consecutively.
Dr. Gen. Abdel Samea expressed his appreciation to Enppi’s staff and NCIC’s trust in Enppi’s project management experiences while highlighting the cooperation aspects and encouraging Enppi to embrace other industries in addition to the petroleum activities which Enppi is renowned for. On his part, Eng. Lotfy; Enppi Chairman & CEO praised the cooperation of the two companies which resulted in the accomplishment of many projects.
The objective of the complex is to support Egypt’s “2030 Vision” via the execution of national projects aspiring to support the agricultural projects as well as increasing the added value of the Egyptian natural resources, such as natural gas, phosphate rocks and limestone. In addition, this project aims to create more job opportunities, especially those qualifying the national cadres to manage such industrial edifices which help in transferring and nationalize its technology.
Phase III consists of nine Plants to produce phosphate fertilizers such as DAP and nitrogen fertilizers such as urea, in addition to ammonia and chemical acids involved in the production process such as concentrated sulfuric acid and commercial phosphoric acid, as well as the execution of offsites and utilities necessary for the manufacturing operations.
Besides the production from the existing plants, the new plants will produce sufficient fertilizers ensuring to maintain the leading position of Egypt in this industry and support its production capacities to satisfy the local demand and export the surplus which will increase the economic resources of the country and create significant number of job opportunities, in line with “Egypt 2030 Vision”.
